Inventive and innovative are just two adjectives describing our destinations for Les Dames' March gathering. We'll meet first at Firefly Kitchens, the thriving, woman-owned business founded by Dame Julie O'Brien. for a behind the scenes tour. It's where Julie and her team craft organic, timeless classics we know as sauerkraut and kimchi. Inspired by her passion for food, health and community, along with a life-changing discovery about the power of fermented kraut, Julie opened shop in 2010 in Ballard's industrial district -- and the rest is delicious history. Today. Firefly Kitchens offers eight vibrant kraut flavors, probiotic tonics and beverages, several kimchi products, plus a range of specialty products all rooted in organic cabbage and bold creativity. We'll see where it all comes together and taste a few bright and briny favorites. From there we'll stroll three blocks to the taproom at Stoup Brewing for a tour, more Firefly bites, and a sip or two of Stoup's award-winning favorite brews.

Founded in 2013 in Ballard, Seattle's beer epicenter, Stoup Brewing is a dream come true for husband-and-wife team Brad Benson and Lara Zahaba with their longtime friend Robyn Schumacher. With marketing, forensic chemistry, and biology backgrounds enhancing their brewing knowledge and passions, Stoup's bustling brew pubs now number three and their outstanding brews have won multiple awards. We'll tour the Ballard facility and then gather for Happy Hour in a cozy, heated outside shelter for conversation and food. Yes, you'll have a purchasing ticket to choose your brew. (Cost included in meeting fee.)
