We're about to head into a season when many of our most beloved foods are served-including those favorite Thanksgiving recipes being made and shared very soon, along with many other festive, delicious gatherings in the coming weeks.  It's the perfect time to celebrate these cherished recipes packed full of memories and connections, without which these holidays wouldn't be quite the same.

Inspired by her new project, Long Live the Recipe Box, Dame Cynthia Nims will lead us in a dynamic conversation about these recipes, and ways to be sure that they are gathered and preserved for now and for future generations.  It's not just the details about ingredients and what to do with them that make these recipes so valuable.  The stories they reflect, the memories they hold, the people, places, and experiences they connect us to-that's what makes them treasure worth preserving.

For this special gathering, attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share, one representing a food with which they feel a strong connection (holiday-related or otherwise)-a recipe with a story. Make it a snacky finger food or a prepared dish to share. If no time to cook, you can also bring an example or two of a beloved written recipe and tell its story.

Footnote: Please bring a typed or hand-written copy of your recipe, which will be compiled into a master document the group can access online once assembled. And yes, wine will be poured.  Feel free to bring a bottle to contribute.

Per person cost: $25
